The following lines have been written by one of  “The Internationals”, Dorothy Wagasky. Being 80 years of age, she is proud to be the oldest female player in the World Shuffleboard League (WSL) and likes to share her words with us.

WANT  TO  PLAY

“WANT TO PLAY”, These words would bring cheer

                As youths we could hear,

From friends so dear,”Want to Play”?

Now living at Freedom Plaza, as Grand and Great Grandparents,

Time comes again to rejoice with these words each day

              “Want to Play”?

Seventy-two to ninety-six, we shove those pucks with skinny sticks,

We try to make the largest score,

Shuffling the twenty-eight pucks once more.

October rating showed us as number thirteen,

With an average score of ninety-six point twenty-five

                Proving that we are alive.

.

Our challenge as super seniors is to move up in the ranking,

As we do our best to give the youngsters,

                A light spanking.
