What an AMAZING WEEK at Niteroi, Brazil!

The 36th ISA World Championship was a huge success and will always be remembered for the warm hospitality of our Brazilian friends. The scenery was breathtaking – Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, Guanabara Bay with its sandy beaches and many more attractions that we visited.

“Appreciate the people who touch our lives with kindness and make it better.”

On behalf of the International Shuffleboard Association, I want to sincerely thank Bernar Borges, president of the Brazilian Shuffleboard Association, and his committee for hosting this memorable championship. Paulo Pavao and the many volunteers did an outstanding job of making us feel welcome and comfortable…helping us at all times and feeding us with lots of delicious Brazilian food. You were all incredibly enthusiastic, organized and helpful throughout the event.

Thank you to Glenn Monroe, our tournament director, and to Jim and Beth Allen for their ongoing support and dedication to shuffleboard. Their work is always very much appreciated.

Congratulations to John Brown for his induction into the ISA Hall of Fame. John is most deserving of this prestigious award.

Congratulations to Ellen Hasson from Norway and Michael Hirsch from the USA for winning first place and taking home the Golden Cues.

To all the participants who took part in this memorable event, I congratulate you and hope the memories last a lifetime.

We are all winners to be able to take part in the ISA tournaments. Our tournaments are a wonderful way of making friends from around the world. The week was filled with lots of new friendships, camaraderie and fun.

I am extremely grateful for having the opportunity to take part in the 36th ISA Championship in Brazil, to take in the beautiful scenery and to learn about the local culture and traditions of this lovely country.

Sending prayers for good health, love and peace,

Myrna Bilton
