If you are already taking part in the World Shuffleboard League, you probably have developed your individual strategy for scoring as many points as you can.
For those of you having signed up for the upcoming World Singles in Dieppe, NB, the word SpeedShuffleboard might be new.
If so, you better get used to it, as it might well determine about your final ranking in the World Singles Championship. SpeedShuffleboard will be used to break ties after the first round of Round Robin. All players with the same number of wins within their group will break ties by SpeedShuffleboard.
We have learned from the first World Singles tournament in Betmar 2009 that this tie breaker is fun and challenge at the same time. Take a look at the description of SpeedShuffleboard in our section “World Shuffleboard League” and make yourself familiar with it.
Getting away from the pure “shooting a disc to score”, we have created a submenu there called “WSL Strategies”, where one member of the WSL’s first winning team, Earl Ball, has shared his winning tips with us. Read them carefully and check if you can use them for your advantage. If it is not what you think is the best way to score, let us know what your strategy looks like.
There will soon be others to share their thoughts with us: wait for ideas from last year’s top player by average, Torben Hussmann from Germany.
Also from Germany comes the designer of SpeedShuffleboard, Dieter Hussmann. To tell you the truth, he is not really among the top performers, but he has failed so often and has seen so many mistakes, that he can definitely tell you about a million successful ways that do not work.
