Mr. and Mrs. Hayashi
I would like to introduce you to Shuzoh and Haruko Hayashi, a wonderful couple from Japan. Both of them received Sportsmanship Awards during the ISA Team Championship in Germany. I am proud to know them and my goal in life is to be like them as shufflers and to emulate their personalities.
Haruko started playing shuffleboard in 1988. She has participated fifteen times in the ISA events and always enjoys playing a game once a week on our courts. She also likes other activities, for example playing soft volley ball and barn dancing, too. She participates not only for her own pleasure but she also volunteers as a coach for senior citizens with rehabilitation difficulties.
Shuzou started shuffleboard after his retirement in 2000. He enjoys playing once or twice a week and has participated eight times in the ISA events. His hobbies are gardening when the weather is fair and carving pictures when rains. His pictures have received high praise in the newspaper.
They are grateful to have good health and longevity together and are hopefull of having many more years together. They hope to continue to win with humility or lose with grace in shuffleboard.
They are a total of 167 years old.
