altThe World Shuffleboard League (WSL) already has teams with players of different nationalities. But did you know that you can build teams with players from different places or even different continents?
One of our members has asked us whether it would be possible to form a team, playing in different countries. The WSL Board has checked the rules and concluded that nothing speaks against it and no rule change is necessary.

Of course, there is a bit more fine tuning needed in terms of payments, submitting scores and referees. Therefore we have strengthened the role of the Team Captain. He or she will act as a “Center of Competence” for the team.
Here is how it works:…

Assumed we have a team with players from 4 different nations (places);

  • Each player provides the Team Captain (he can be one of those players of course) with his individual score, date of score and the name and email address of his individual referee
  • Team Captain enters the score, enters Oliver Schwarten (webmaster) or Dieter Hussmann (League Commissioner) as referee and pays for the score
  • Team Captain sends an email to the respective individual referees stating the details and asks for their approval (to make it easy they should be able to approve by answering “ok” and hit the reply button)
  • Team Captain forwards the mails of the 4 individual referees to Oliver or myself, we will double check
  • Oliver or I will enter the final approval into the system

The Team Captain will therefore be the one who does most of the work, who collects the money and who has to be familiar with a computer, but that is the way it is…
