Members of the World Shuffleboard Body, Greetings.

We are exactly one month from the most infamous day in ISA history. This is an event not to be missed in your lifetime.

On 20 October 2013, 152 of the finest shufflers from 12 nations will converge in St. Petersburg, Florida for the 32nd World Singles Shuffleboard Championship. Records since 1979 are being broken and popularity for our sport is most definately on the rise once again. Most unfortunate, the India Shuffleboard Association was forced to withdraw from participation because they were refused travel visas by the US State Department. Shufflers are a dangerous lot aren't they ?   I have filed an official complaint with the US State Department in an attempt to prevent this from happening in the future. The Russian delegation, I fear, may fall victim to the same demise however they have not officially withdrawn as of yet.

My Committees and I have been in daily communication going over and over each aspect of the upcoming championship.

Operations Chairman Jim Allen says all is progressing well and Comm Chairman Stan McCormack has been bombarding the world with blogs and updates of our progress. Tournament Director Glenn Monroe has his game schedule ready to put into force and Treasurer Wilma Rudolph reports all ISA funds are in.  Club Host Chairwoman Beth Allen says the club is looking fantastic with many upgrades in progress specifically to host this event with improvements of over $30,000 being spent so far.  Media will be in full attendence and DO smile for the TV and Camera crews.  The City of St. Petersburg  has their arms open and waiting for all of us.

This Awards Banquet, to be held in the Historic St. Petersburg Colleseum, will feature another  first in the ISA where 2 most deserving individuals will be honored with the ISA's first Lifetime Achievment Awards. Not a dry eye in the house I promise.

To cap it all off, the ISA will make a special presentation to the FSA, USANSA and 100 Year Committee under Chairman McCormack in honor of their Celebrating 100 Years of Shuffleboard in the USA and Florida.  And folks, we are returning, 30 years to the date, from the last time  the ISA held its 1983 World Championship at the very same Mirror Lake Shuffleboard Club in St. Petersburg, Florida and I promise you all, it has never looked better in its glorious 84 year history.

Looking forward to seeing each and every one of you.
