The Winners

Frank Bähren is German Champion 2016. The 39-year old beat ranked No. 1 player Torben Hußmann in a thrilling final match that came down to the last shot. This comes somewhat surprising, as it was his first medal in an official GSA tournament. Throughout the whole tournament he played very convincing, concentrated and with the necessary bit of luck and thus took home the trophy.

Meanwhile GSA President Dieter Hußmann won the match for 3rd place against Stefan Stadtmüller from Limburg.

dscf5687As in previous years, the GSA welcomed some new shufflers among their ranks who made their way into the German Championship through a qualification system. Due to increasing interest among the German shufflers, a qualification system had to be introduced for the first time this year. This development illustrates the growing popularity of Shuffleboard in Germany.
