Congratulations to HOF "new arrivals"!
Dr. Luiz Pimentel (Brazil), Henry Strong (Canada), and Yoshiko Suzuki (Japan) were inducted into the ISA Hall of Fame in 2012.
I very recently heard this news about my fellow Canadian, Henry. From scanning this website's contents I found it was announced in *March* this year.
HEY - THAT'S NEWS!. I'm blogging to let the world know!
Cheers, Bill Boyes - TheShufflersNews.

Hello,
I would like to introduce myself and perhaps gain a contact on the Florida West Coast. I have been playing for three years but not so much years one and three. Did play quite a bit in year two. Have won a District Amateur Masters, won a State Amateur Tournament, and placed third in main in a State Pro Tournament while being paired with another amateur. Looking for a way to play in the St. Pete area. Any contacts would be appreciated.
Regards,
Stephen Clendenin

Glenna I heard through the grapevine that you've got your eyes on one of those golden cues to be given out in St. Pete at the 32nd World Championship. I'm cheering for you.

WOW!! Were we really on that unbelievable trip to Sochi Russia?
YES we were there. We have the wonderful pictures to prove it. It was our first "inaugural" and hope it won't be our last.
The Russian hospitality was excellent. We were treated like we were the Royal Family.
A huge "Thank You" to Jim & Beth Allen from USA and Dieter & Birgitt Hussmann from Germany. We sincerely appreciate their many hours of planning a trip we will never forget.
"Thanks for the Memories"

Prof. Michael Robert Zellner
Dear Bill and others. Anyone who has questions about International Shuffleboard Association events should first contact their National Shuffleboard President, who will give them all the necessary details about the event including UN team requirements and the selection process.
If they are from a place where no National Shuffleboard Organization exists, then I would be more than happy to entertain any questions or doubts they may have.
For information regarding this tournament including the schedule please click on the above heading called Dieppe. For Questions about the ISA and its operating procedures please click on the above heading called ISA. We are trying our best to please everyone.
A day or two ago we had a query from someone who wanted to play in the Dieppe ISA Singles tournament. They had looked on many websites but could not find the basic information about the tournament that would tell them if they could play, or if they would want to play. I'm sure they were frustrated.
Are we "experts" surprised? Do we care? Perhaps we should all be sure we present the basics clearly. This will help everyone, but especially new players. We want shuffleboard to be attractive, not confusing. For Dieppe could we say "Tournament format is team play, between national teams, team members being chosen by the governing body in a participating country.". Participants to date will be "USA, Canada, Germany, etc., etc., plus a "UN" team.
A few words about selection to the UN team would be welcome, even to me.
Comments anyone?
Congratulations to the ISA for a high quality website. Lots of information well presented! As webmaster for TheShufflersNews (theshufflersnews.wordpress.com) and the CNSA website (www.cnsashuffleboardcanada.org) I have supplied links both to "Dieppe2011" and to the Sochi-Russia article in the "News" section.
Keep up the good work on behalf of shuffleboard!

Murray and I would like to thank Jim and Beth Allen, for the incredible experience of visiting Sochi, Russia. We made many new friends, and look forward to seeing them again. The experience of playing European Open was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who made that happen.
We found the Russians very eager to learn shuffleboard, and look forward to playing with them again.

Albert & I wish to sincerely thank Jim & Beth Allen for all their organization during the European Open Shuffleboard.
We were superbly treated at the hotel. We really enjoyed meeting the German, USA & fellow Canadian players at this event. It was a trip of a lifetime. The food & hospitality of the Russian people will never be forgotten.

The SOCHI EVENT was a superb experience: the congenial Russian people, the generous participants, the luxurious accommodations, the informative tours, the exquisite Russian food, and the excellent German organisation of play all contributed to an adventure of superlative dimensions.
High praise as well to Jim and Beth Allen for their professional skills in setting up the North American end of the process, and for their ongoing , but often invisible contributions to the success of the SOCHI EVENT.

Well hello y'all.....soon be in Sochi and look forward to seeing everyone again.....Germany was a wonderful experience and am sure that both this trip and Dieppe will continue the tradition established in all the tournaments I have attended. One of friendships renewed, of keen competition,in a location that adds to the pleasure of the occasion. And a Hi from Pam too. 8)

My Dear Stan,
First of all, Certanly, no disrespect intended to an honored ex ISA President however William Johnston lived in both Canada and the USA as a snowbird for many months of the year. He was in constant contact with the majority of players in both the USA and Canada which at that time was the majority of the members of the ISA. He most likely competed in local, state and National tournaments therefore being in daily contact with the players. The comments made by Earl and I refer to myself being a President who lives ALL year long outside of the USA and the North American Continent for that matter. I also do not have the opportunity to compete in your local, state or National tournaments. My only contact with the game and the players is at the annual ISA events.

Both the Outgoing President, Earl Ball, and the Incoming President, Michael Zellner, have stated INCORRECTLY (See Presidents Corner) that Michael who resides in Brazil will be the first ISA President to live outside of the USA. That is quite simply untrue. The very first President of the ISA was William R. Johnstone, a CANADIAN who resided in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

It's great to see so much activity, and I will be trying to get a team together too. :)

I think that the World shuffleboard league is great. It has become a lot more fun than I originally thought. One negative comment is that I don't think that it is in the best interest of everyone to have anyone playing on two different teams. I think that you are opening up something that is not in the best interst of the League.
Have just found this new Shuffleboard site. I am Webmaster for www.districtone.net, covering shuffleboard for the greater part of the Arizona Valley. We will be starting the National Singles Tournament at Mesa Spirit RV Park in Mesa, Arizona next Monday February 14, 2011. I will be playing in that tournament as well as covering, taking pictues for the web site along with Shuffleboard Bob (Bob Zaletel.
